While perusing some bike blogs I happened upon this site documenting a solo Euro tour by Jacqui Van Ham. Jacqui is making the trip on a vintage BMW and her blog is interesting to say the least.

Here's one picture from her blog of a highway in Germany that caught my eye.

The line of traffic is almost as insane as the lane splitting.

What is so beautiful about motorcycling in Europe is that the lane splitting works so well. And being expected to ride to the front of the line at red lights. And cars driving along the shoulder to let motorcycles pass. Paying attention while driving or riding. What a beautiful concept!

The photo sure looks like it works. Gives me chills just to imagine doing that in Ohio, though.

I never even cut through traffic in Florida. Either they'd lynch you or run you over...The bad news is they are a good deal more crowded in Europe than we are so I guess they adapt.

Are you going to Mid Ohio, Vintage Days? A fantastic bike event!
Cheers!
