Whopper-jawed is like catty-wompus -:) The Urban Dictionary has it just right, and the term is used on the West Coast, too, though I suspect it was probably our previous generation using it a bit more.

Sorry about the spill, but I'm sure impressed with the creative problem solving that got you all home.

In this case, the term would be counter-whopperjawed 'cause you ain't supposed to be alligned with a hazard like gravel.

Regarding the ERC, I've considered it more than once but never seem to find time for it. Any training is worthwhile but getting some to admit its worth to them is tough.

However, I can see possibilities if a large portion of an ERC class knows each other and rides together.

I'll drop that into the suggestion box!

Getting it home was less of a challenge than I thought. Almost like riding a bike with a suicide shifter - the clutch and shifter mounted on a separate lever.

I gotta wonder too, what good is road side assistance service if everywhere you ride is so far in the boonies that it takes 3 or 4 hours for someone to get there with a tow.

Thank God Randy wasn't seriously hurt and he had protective gear on. Too bad about the bike though. Had more than my share of similar close calls.

I can picture in my minds' eye the black taped handlebar & levers cobbled together. Sounds like an episode out of Red Green. Glad to hear at least all made it home safe!
